Do ever feel like you have lost yourself?
I was spending the hot Texas summer days in the pool with my two girls. I had accepted a generous severance package from my executive management position. Excited to be trying out this “full-time mom” gig, I would really enjoy this time and decide on my new career path in the fall.
Or at least that was my plan…
I remember the month that all four kids and I were plagued with recurring bouts of strep throat. All I wanted was an elusive hot shower and a good long sleep.
I adored my kids but, I was losing myself taking care of everyone else.
One day, a friend asked if I wanted to join a fitness boot-camp. While I really wanted to, I couldn’t justify the cost. I knew this would give help me change my life.
So, instead of remaining a victim of circumstances, I decided to take back control of my life. I got certified and built my own fitness and coaching businesses. This was was my calling and it felt amazing to work in MY purpose.
When it seemed I was most fulfilled, life knocked me down hard in 2015.
One day, I literally fell into a puddle of spilled paint in my bedroom. I laid there for at least an hour crying and disappointed about the state of my life.
In this moment, I committed to change my life for good:
I was determined that circumstances would no longer hold me back from finding my truth and living my purpose, on purpose.
My enormous ‘aha’ moment was realizing that living my truth wasn’t selfish but the only way to fully live my best life and better serve those I care about the most.
I have more freedom living my truth.
I have more peace from a well-integrated life.
I am a more connected and effective momma.
I serve my clients well with confidence in my calling.
This doesn’t mean I now have a perfect life but I do take 100% responsibility for myself and my life.
Life continues to throw new challenges. Over the past four years, my children have experienced serious ongoing mental health and physical health issues. I have navigated ending my 29 year marriage. We are affected by the COVID pandemic.
Because I am living in my truth, I have been able to confidently support and advocate for my children through many trials, without losing myself again. During the most challenging moments, I reject fear and the thoughts of shame and guilt that could hold me back from the freedom and confidence to serve my family, my clients and myself well.
I truly love coaching people who feel stuck to unlock their best lives daily, despite life’s trials!
